Measuring

I love measuring stuff and my lovely wife wife doesn’t.

And all of my hobbies are built around measuring, maintenance, and reproduce ability. I guess that this blog is not very measurable, this is my rock and roll, my water colors. I just write down random feelings and try to work on my writing craft.

But all of my other hobbies are pretty measurable. My first hobby is baking and cooking. I only use recipes, unlike Sneha, and I am sure that anything I make I can make again. This goes for almost everything, I have a set of Apple notes for my recipes, cookies, cakes, steak, Indian tea. There are some things that I dont write down because it doesn’t generally make sense, like an omelette, I even have a few secret tips, I add a bit of water to the eggs to keep the eggs cool so they dont burn. I remember my Grandpa, my dad’s dad, saving a recipe from a newspaper and keeping it in a little case of notes, it was a pancake recipe. I try to have a digital version of that. Most of my recipes are written down.

I also enjoy doing programming which is very measured. I like fixing machines, like cars or computers.

I also enjoy, walking and doing some bit of exercises. I do always walk the same route and try to measure how I am doing. I also do pull ups regularly, I try to do as many as I can before my arms tire, so far I am up to 4. I do full extensions since that is what my friend recommended, but I do try to measure how my strength is improving. I also try to measure my eating and weight loss.

And I think I pick hobbies that are measurable since I find comfort in it, I enjoy the consistency. I am not a pure artist, I am not driven by inspiration. I do not go where the wind takes me, I take measured steps, and that is ok with me.
