Ants Love Egg

We definitely have an ant problem at our house. I also remember in our Cupertino house we had ants. In Palo Alto and San Francisco I dont really remember ants. But we leave out a variety of food, we try not to but it happens, and so we have a natural experiment on what foods ants like.

And I thought it would be something sugary, fruit, literal sugar, something else. But we have learned that ants are really protein focused, like the title says, and really likes eggs or meat. If we leave a pan with some egg or even tiny flecks of eggs in the sink we will have ants the next day, maybe even in the next hour.

And Sneha hates ants, more than spider or flies or other bugs. So I gotta be more on top of the egg cleaning game, especially with two young kids who eats eggs as their main source of protein for some meals. Lots of scrubbing the sink in the morning.
