Generalizations

2025-07-20

I have heard that humans think in patterns, we need to generalize some things to make sense of the world. But I really think you shouldn’t judge people based on generalizations, individuals are individual.

But that being said I do think there are some tendencies that I have observed in the world.

Actors are sensitive, they are mostly like theater geeks. Engineers are logical, pro athletes are jocks, HR people are social. Urban folk are more progressive, rural folks are more conservative. Rich people are assholes. Women are more communicative and social than men. Gamers are introverts.

These are just my own observations based on world experiences and for most of these I have found exceptions.

And some of these generalizations are like self filtering processes. Like most of these pre school teachers I have met are really kind and love kids and are women. Well that makes sense, a pre school teachers probably had a modest salary, needs education, and has to deal with kids all day. The job shapes the type of people that apply for the job, which creates stereotypes or generalizations.

This blog has no moral or lesson learned. If is fun to meet individuals because they don’t fit neatly in boxes or generalizations. And I also try hard to not fit neatly in a box. I am some mixed race dude that is logical but enjoys social interaction. I am socially pretty progressive but kind of fiscally conservative. I cook and clean, I am a bit ocd about cleaning. Don’t generalize me bro. 😛
